In 1998, Dmitry Borisovich Volkov founded IT-Online, a company specialising in the development and promotion of online projects. Then Dmitry sold IT-Online and went on to found Social Discovery Group in 2014, a global technology company focused on connecting people through social discovery apps with a mission to solve isolation, loneliness and disconnection with the help of digital reality.

Social Discovery Group is the third largest social discovery company in the world which unites more than 40 brands within dating & entertainment. More than two hundred and fifty million people across a hundred different countries enjoy Social Discovery Group’s apps.

Dmitry Volkov is a serial entrepreneur, investor in 22 venture funds, including Oaktree, Khosla Ventures, 500 Startups, Dream Machine, Mangrove Capital Partners, and Blockchain Capital. Academic Background

In 2008, Volkov took on an ambitious endeavour, choosing “D.Dennett’s Theory of Consciousness” as the subject for his Ph.D thesis. Volkov contributed significantly to the academic understanding of consciousness-related issues. In 2012 he published his first book, “Boston Zombie: D. Dennett and His Theory of Consciousness,” which further solidified his position as an authority in the field of analytical philosophy.

Dmitry Volkov’s reputation as a respected philosopher was solidified as he became a member of the American Philosophical Association in 2014. Three years later, he reached a massive milestone in his academic career by defending his Dr. Habil thesis on “Problems of free will and moral responsibility in analytic philosophy in late XX – early XXI century.”

Volkov continued his contributions, publishing “Free will: Illusion or opportunity” in February 2019. This insightful work delved into the long-standing debate on free will, offering his perspective to engage readers in contemplating this fundamental aspect of human existence.

Volkov has a great personal involvement in the art scene. Since 2015 he has organised and participated in the Burning Man Festival’s art camps in collaboration with various artists.
